From our very own UE art department this handcrafted bowl and cup were designed and crafted by an art student who also happens to be on the swim and dive team. The bowl and cup were made on a pottery wheel, painted and fired to perfection. To sweeten up the bidding a few gourmet chocolates were added. Time, inspiration and priceless art pieces donated to this important cause to help build up the swim team scholarship fund.
A note from UE Swim & Dive Aces Booster Club Inc: This auction honors Jason Morse in pursuit of an Endowment Scholarship fund in his name. All auction proceeds will go directly to the Swim and Dive Team Jason Morse Endowment Scholarship fund being restricted solely for athletics scholarships given to a Men's or Women's swimming & diving student -athlete.
Thank you to all of the generous donors! We greatly appreciate everyone's support and we wish you good luck with your bids!
Background on this Endowment fund: The University of Evansville swimming and diving program has established the Jason D. Morse '98 Memorial Endowed Scholarship. Morse passed away in 2017 after a three-and-a-half year battle with Adult Recurrent Wilms Cancer. Morse attended UE from 1994 through 1998, where he excelled as a distance freestyle swimmer for the UE swimming & diving program. Morse placed fifth in the Missouri Valley Conference Championships in the 1650-yard freestyle as a freshman, while placing eighth as a sophomore. He also was the first Purple Ace to break the 4:40 barrier in the 500-yard freestyle, as he left UE holding the school record in the event with a time of 4:39.36. Jason was also involved in the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity during his time at UE.
